gaga and beyonce together at last

Finally the much delayed Gaga and Beyonce video Telephone premiered tonight!

You can watch it at E!Online:

Lady Gaga & Beyonce "Telephone"

I'm excited to hear what the world thinks of this melding of the two hottest ladies in pop culture...there are bound to be many lovers and haters because we know these women do nothing but total extremes. Highlights from the video include seeing Gaga's real costumeless body in a black bikini, smoking cigarette sunglasses, a telephone-shaped hairpiece, and Beyonce releasing her seriously psycho Gaga side.

NY Magazine already has an article about "The Ten Best Things About Lady Gaga and Beyonce's Video."

Although I love everything with Gaga and everything Beyonce so the combination is overhwelmingly awesome, I have to admit that I still like the Bad Romance video better. I think it's because of the creepy hand movements, full head-to-toe Alexander McQueen ensemble complete with armadillo shoes, longer choreography segments (I really just want to see more dancing always), and disturbing oversized anime eyes. Perhaps I will do a Ten Best Things About Bad Romance...

I love being one of Gaga's little monsters...

lady gaga inspired by architects

Two of my obsessions, Lady Gaga and architecture, have now been joined. It has been wittingly discovered that Lady Gaga's extremely unique and cutting-edge wardrobe choices have been inspired by works from some of the world's most famous architects. It seems that she has found the key to devoting a life to architecture, yet withstanding the design field's current recession...

Here is the article from Flavorwire last week:

More Than Just a Poker Face: Lady Gaga as Architectural Cipher

I can't wait until her next video comes out to see if she incorporates a Michael Graves tea kettle into her wardrobe choices.

pop culture overload: gaga and kanye

I don't often post about pop culture, but I have already admitted my obsession for all things Gaga...so I might as well share my excitement about the recent announcement about the upcoming Lady Gaga and Kanye West collaboration tour that starts this Fall.

These are definitely my two favorite pop artists right now, so the idea of the duo taking the stage together is quite thrilling. Get ready for some ridiculously over-the-top no-pants, japanimation, crazy sunglasses, psychedelic outfits extreme pop culture overload. It might make your head spin, but whatever they come up with will go straight on to your iPod's workout playlist.

Both artists are known for their unique fashion sense, so you can bet that I'll be blogging about what Gaga and Kanye will be sporting for their shows.

admitting my love for lady gaga

Sometimes there is a singer/actress/celebrity/reality star in pop culture who we just find fascinating for usually no specific or even slightly respectable reason. We follow these people just because the twitter/paparazzi/myspace/People/E! environment has allowed stalking to be socially acceptable and by reading about their social outings we can both rejoice and lament that our life will never be anything like theirs. It's the person who we pick up the tabloid to read because they're on the cover or check superficial as often as possible for a daily update or keep in the back of our minds that we might dress up as them for Halloween (even though it's barely spring). Perhaps I'm alone in this idea, but I feel that pop culture mania has now become a part of our society for people of all ages.

For me that celebrity is Lady Gaga. The 23 year old New York native pop sensation is a singer and performer. She is known for her top-0f-the-charts pop song Just Dance (which I really just can't get enough of), thick platinum blonde bangs, ever-present sunglasses, and bold costumes that usually do not include bottoms (think variations on the leotard). Her style definitely lacks a bit of "class" (Tim Gunn would wholeheartedly disapprove), but for some reason I respect the originality and confidence that she exudes with her fashion statements.

I am fascinated by the fact that I know that she just got a new bob hairstyle, but yet I don't know if or why she's always wearing a wig. I think she exudes sexuality, but I don't necessarily know if she's attractive. I admire her sense of fashion and style, but I also don't really approve of anything she wears. I have seen a million pictures of her, but I don't actually think I could pick her out in a line-up. Yes...all very fascinating.

So now you can love her or hate her, but at least you know a little more about Lady Gaga and me.
